HANIME · LEGAL & SAFETY

Privacy Policy

How Hanime handles account data, reference media, AI requests, browser-local data, Studio renders and Elsewhere projects.

1. Local-first design

Hanime Studio renders and Hanime Elsewhere projects are designed to remain on your computer by default. The desktop apps do not represent local project files as a permanent Hanime cloud library.

2. Hanime Studio

The Windows Studio connects to the configured local creator engine and stores its persistent render library locally. The current build keeps saved renders under your local Hanime Studio library on the PC.

3. Hanime Elsewhere

Elsewhere stores projects, stories, characters, scenes, prompts and notes in its local application data. It also supports user-initiated JSON backup export and import.

4. Video Rebuild

When you use Video Rebuild, selected reference media may be transmitted for temporary processing so metadata, shot boundaries and representative frames can be analysed. Temporary processing data is not presented as a permanent Hanime media library.

5. AI-powered actions

Idea Lab and supported Rebuild actions may send the prompt instructions, reference data and technical context needed to the configured AI service. Do not submit material you are not legally entitled to process.

6. Browser-local data

Interface preferences, usage state and other browser-local settings may be stored with localStorage or similar browser storage. Clearing browser storage can remove that data.

7. Membership data

When production membership authentication is enabled, Hanime may process the account and entitlement information needed to establish a session and verify access. Patreon is the planned membership provider; its own privacy terms will also apply.

8. Your controls

You can choose not to use cloud-backed AI actions, clear browser-local data, manage local Studio outputs, and export or remove local Elsewhere projects from your own computer.

Effective: 13 September 2026. These terms may be updated as Hanime, applicable law and third-party integrations change.
